en Choir is an informal, non-audition and diverse choir for men and women from all walks of life to socialise and have fun while singing contemporary songs together. You don’t even need to think you can sing as my job is supporting you in realising that you can. We currently have 60 members aged 14-83 and welcome new members all year round.
I formed en Choir in 2011 as an outlet for my more unusual musical arrangements of pop and soul songs and I am fortunate that our members enjoy singing them. en Choir is like no other choir I have led for more reasons than the originality of the music alone. Some of the words members use to describe en Choir are: inclusive, friendly, innovative, bonkers, enjoyable, inspirational, fun and a bit silly. Each week we laugh, sing, learn and make new friends.
During the last ten years television programmes have led to increased interest in choir singing, partly because of the many health and wellbeing benefits singing offers. Never before have choirs been so accessible to people from all walks of life. You don’t need to read music or have sung in a choir before, and for many of our members singing in en Choir is their first experience of singing. Come along – you won’t regret it.
